ELLUMEN ADDS MILITARY HEALTH EXPERT TO ROSTER
Angela Hester Joins Fast-Growing Health IT Provider as Project Manager
ARLINGTON, VA - August 3, 2011 - Ellumen, a leading provider of health IT services and expert solutions, today announced it expanded its team with Angela Hester, as project manager. Ms. Hester has an extensive background in health information and technology program management, overseeing more than $37 million within the Military Health System (MHS). In her new role, Ms. Hester will be responsible for organizing and managing technical and contractual components for Ellumen’s federal health IT programs.

Previously, Major Angela Hester spent more than ten years in various system development and leadership roles for the U.S. Air Force. Most recently, she served as a product line manager for the Defense Health Information Management Systems (DHIMS). While there she significantly increased system and user productivity, and spearheaded various health information management system component upgrades and installations. Prior to that, Major Hester was involved in key deployments, including: delivering the Electronic Health Record to the White House Medical Unit; enabling critical clinical data to be exchanged between DoD and VA providers worldwide by migrating AHLTA Theater data; and achieving zero medical data lost for more than 5,000+ sailors by providing a backup utility for the USS Reagan in a record-setting two weeks.

Major Hester earned a bachelor’s of science in dietetics at the State University of New York College at Oneonta, and a master of science in human nutrition from the University of Alabama. She is a certified project management professional (PMP), diabetes educator, registered dietitian and certified professional in healthcare information and management systems (CPHIMSS). Ms. Hester is a member if the Project Management Institute, HIMSS and American Dietetic Association and currently resides in Alexandria, VA.
