Ellumen Senior Security Architect Invited to Present at the 12th Annual URAC Quality Summit
Healthcare Security Veteran Tapped for Expertise in Mobile Device and Medical Security
ARLINGTON, VA - October 3, 2011 - Ellumen, a provider of expert services and IT solutions to federal and commercial health enterprises, today announced its Senior Security Architect, Dennis M. Seymour, has been invited to speak at the 12th annual URAC Quality Summit. This is Seymour’s latest in a string of highly influential industry events in which he has been tapped for his expertise in mobile device and medical security. This year’s URAC’s Quality Summit theme is on “Navigating the New Health Care Environment: Protecting Consumers and Delivering Value.” The event will take place from October 4-6 in Chicago, IL.
Seymour will explore the efforts healthcare organizations are making to improve network security when mobile devices and applications are implemented, as well as U.S. and international regulatory requirements and risk management. His session titled, “Identify, Assess and Mitigate Security Risks Associated with New Mobile Devices and Applications,” is part of the Health Information Technology track, scheduled for 10:15 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 6. Seymour is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Program Management Professional (PMP). He has over 15 years of healthcare-specific security experience, including 12 years of experience at the enterprise level for the Department of Veterans Affairs. He is fluent in policy development, system controls assessment and certification, and medical device security policy development and compliance with HIPAA, NIST, FISMA, and other requirements. Seymour is currently on the HIMSS Privacy and Security Committee, served previously on the URAC HIPAA Privacy & Security Accreditation Committee, and in 2010 was a finalist for the (ISC)2 U.S. Government Information Security Leadership Award (GISLA).
