Ellumen Inc. Innovates Technology to Improve the Capabilities of Healthcare Professionals

Since 2009, Ellumen’s independent research and development (IR&D) branch, Celadon Inc., has been conducting basic and applied research to innovate healthcare technology. Ellumen’s goal is to accelerate the development and commercialization of advanced technologies to enhance the lives of current and future customers. Over the summer of 2016, Ellumen Inc. added three new patents to its current portfolio which includes a broad range of new technologies in telecommunication and medical diagnostics for improving patient health. Ellumen Awarded Patent by USPTO for Novel Method to Encode Medical Images

Ellumen IR&D innovation creates foothold in biomedical imaging community with ground-breaking patent award

Ellumen Inc., a trusted provider of professional services and IT solutions, is pleased to announce that on August 18, 2015, the patent entitled “Dielectric Encoding of Medical Images” (Patent No. 9,111,334 B2) was issued by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) to inventors, and Ellumen team members, Todd R. McCollough and William J. McCollough. The issued patent is an innovative method which will allow physicians to be able to easily interpret medical images created using microwave scattering data. This technique provides a cost effective approach to encoding dielectric images into familiar forms so that training, diagnostic hardware, or software is not required by those in the medical community to interpret these images.

Congratulations to inventors and Ellumen Team Members Todd McCollough and Bill McCollough on securing the patent for “Dielectric Encoding of Medical Images”, issued by the USPTO. The issued patent is an innovative method which will allow physicians to be able to easily interpret medical images created using microwave scattering data.  This technique provides a cost effective approach to encoding dielectric images into familiar forms so that training, diagnostic hardware, or software is not required by those in the medical community to interpret these images.
