Business Architecture Documentation Project

Ellumen provides expert technical architecture analysis concerning the FHIE framework architecture and supplies technical evaluations and reports on the current environment. Ellumen will also provide expert design services to the Federal Healthcare Care Center (FHCC) regarding capacity for modifications or specialized re-use within the evolving FHCC technical Architecture. Additionally, Ellumen assists the Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration FHIE framework's future business architecture requirements.

FHIE/BHIE Systems Engineering Support

Ellumen has been tasked to provide on-going operations and maintenance support of all Federal Healthcare Information Exchange (FHIE) applications and systems components for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the Department of Defense (DoD). The FHIE Plus BHIE Enhanced system provides the capability to exchange patient medical records between health information systems operated by the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) and the DoD Military Health System (MHS), and is a critical element of timely and complete healthcare information delivery.

El Paso Interagency Image Sharing

In a revolutionary effort, Ellumen has been tasked to build the next generation enterprise integration of digital medical images exchanged between and among the Department of Defense (DoD) health care systems and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This effort includes building a distributed repository architecture to exchange digital medical images between AHLTA facilities and the VHA HealtheVet systems. This implementation is not a point-to-point or PACS-to-PACS solution. It is truly the first cross-agency enterprise image exchange designed to support expansion to various source modalities and viewing capabilities. This medical imaging integration solution will maximize re-using all BHIE assets now operated by DoD and VA the saving the Federal government millions of dollars. The initial deployment will demonstrate bi-directional image data sharing between the DINPACS system at William Beaumont Army Medical Center (WBAMC) and the VistA Imaging/Remote Image viewing capabilities at the VA El Paso HCS.

Northrop Grumman

Ellumen provides senior software engineering and systems architecture support to Northrop Grumman in their role as the prime integrator for a number of advanced clinical data sharing projects for the Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs. Areas of focus include large scale data and application integration, enterprise architecture, cross-agency clinical document sharing and implementation of the Clinical Document Architecture (CDA).

Air Force Surgeon General

Ellumen provides advanced digital imaging software design and development to support the Air Force Surgeon General Office of Modernization. We provided a system that quickly and electronically accesses and displays radiology and baseline retinal images throughout designated Air Force Medical Treatment Facilities. This system, based on our unique PACSIntegrator technology platform, provides a seamless layer of integration between various imaging modalities, PACS systems, and the patient information system used by the Air Force Integrated Clinical Data Base (ICDB). Currently, this system is part of the operational ICDB code base and is being deployed Air Force wide.

Walter Reed Army Medical Center "Cardio"

Ellumen provided systems integration and technical services in support of the deployment of an improved Cardiac information system at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. This information system integrated echo and cath lab data sources. Coincidental with the deployment of this cardiac information system was the integration of clinical reporting and images series with the resident clinical/provider information system at Walter Reed: AHLTA. Benefits included improved work flow, cardiac reporting, image data acquisition, superior diagnostic capabilities, and data integration into AHLTA.

Walter Reed Army Medical Center "HealtheForces"

As testament to our innovative technology, Ellumen recently developed and deployed the highly praised PACSIntegrator in support of the Walter Reed Army Medical Center (WRAMC) Amputee Clinic. The PACSIntegrator is a set of software and services that function to facilitate the integration of medical image data for patients into and with the HealtheForces text-based, patient data systems. This technology recently won 1st place at The Emerging Technologies and Healthcare Innovations Congress (TETHIC) as a New Technology Device for Diagnostics.
